I have searched the existing feature requests, both open and closed, to make sure this is not a duplicate request.
The feature
In v1.131.3, I reported a bug where media that were hidden and then unhidden were placed on the timeline using the upload time instead of the saved/creation time (Issue #17440).
This has been fixed for new uploads, but existing affected media still display on the timeline at their upload time.
Creating a new user would fix the issue, but that isn’t practical because:

Please add a way to retroactively correct the dates of previously affected media, ideally by re-reading their metadata or running a migration/repair job.
