This help us get rid of the containerd/go-runc which is triggering some security scanners on our users' system. We do not depend on containerd/go-runc directly and should be unaffected by the out dated dep.

This LGTM but seems somewhat risky - before merging, it'd be good to deploy to dev and make sure there are no unexpected issues (latency, errors, etc.)
